About the Artist

Catherine Gomersall is an Australian artist based in Melbourne. Working across photography, drawing, painting and digital image-making, she creates symbolic works exploring identity, adversity, resilience and transformation.

After two decades of autobiographical self-portraiture, her practice has expanded into mythology, archetypes and shared human stories of healing and renewal. Her images draw on the enduring power of myths and fairytales to express experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
